Tadworth Fun ride out
Tadworth to Peaslake via Newlands Corner

While everyone was enjoying the Royal Wedding, even Mrs T took time out from her editing studio to watch it, a few of us lads from the TFB decided this would be a great day to get out on our mountain bikes and get in some training before we head of to Afan.
We met at Wayne’s corner and departed Tadworth around 9 am, first stop Newlands Corner via Boxhill and Ranmore Common. We got to the National Trust Cafe for 11, where we all enjoyed a rather large bacon buttie and a cup of tea.
Having been well rested we headed off to Peaslake for lunch, I must admit one of my favourite haunts in Surrey, plus a local mecca for harden mountain bike fans.
By the time we arrived at Peaslake I think a few other mountain groups had the same idea, and soon there were around 20 cyclists enjoying a light lunch and a beer.
After a well deserved lunch we got back on our mountain bikes and headed off to Leith Hill, 2 hours later we got to the top Leith Hill ready for another cuppa. Quite a sociable bunch of cyclist the TFB
Next it was off to Summer Lighting, into Dorking and finally up Boxhill and back to Tadworth….. barring stopping for coffees and lunch we were out for a total of 8 hours![]()
